Butor

Project Overview

A wide range of works that explore the rural landscape

The first edition of the BUTOR Biennial takes place in a rural setting where nature and contemporary art engage in a close dialogue. Bringing together some twenty regional and international artists, the event invites visitors to take a fresh look at the landscape around them.

Paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures, installations, and site-specific works are on display from the Ferme Écavée to the church in Molenbaix, passing through a chapel, a tavern, an abandoned farm, a barn, a soccer field, and even in the heart of preserved natural areas.

Site-specific artworks in the heart of the region

Site-specific works, designed specifically for the location, play a central role: they blend into the landscape or subtly transform it, blurring the boundaries between art and the environment. Visitors are thus invited to slow down, observe, experience, and rediscover the rural world from an unexpected perspective.
